Samuel Thomas "Tom" Eady
November 30, 1914 - October 11, 2010
- Savannah - Samuel Thomas "Tom" Eady, 95, died October 1, 2010 at St. Joseph's Hospital. He was born in Savannah, son of the late Samuel Vasker and Effie Garvin Eady. Mr. Eady retired as a foreman from Union Camp Corporation after 40 years of service. He was a member of Cresthill Baptist Church, a volunteer firefighter with the Southside Fire Department and an avid golfer having worked as a starter with Bacon Park Golf Club. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother that had a zest for life, a sense of humor and always left all the worrying to God.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Betty Kendrick Eady of Savannah; three daughters and sons-in-law, Karen Eady and Philippe Rimbert of Decatur, GA; Patricia Eady and Jeffrey Finucci of Savannah; Cheryl Eady and Dominic Kleinhenz of Lighthouse Point, FL; two sons and daughters-in-law, Sam and Alicia Eady of Atlanta, GA; Samuel Thomas Eady, Jr. Worrill and Elizabeth of Jackson, GA; sister, June Eady Wachs and her husband, Sam of Montgomery, Al; ten grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and friend and caregiver, Gloria Mullins of Savannah.
Funeral: 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 14, 2010 at Cresthill Baptist Church with Reverend Ken Jernigan officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service.
Burial: Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park.
